18th April 2015 - Importance of patient-centred care

My patients all know how much I like my data, and how important I think it is to constantly review and reasess treatment plans to make sure patients get the best possible care here at Solihull Wellbeing Chiropractic. So imagine how pleased I was when I ran a report for this year to see how my patients have been getting on, and found that 67% of my patients reported feeling "definitely better" at 14 days and 100% "definitely better" at both 30 and 90 days! And 100% report that they are "VERY satisfied" with their care.

So how many treatments did all this take? On average, just 4.

If you are suffering then please give me a call on 07950 200198 or email me on emma@solihullwellbeing.co.uk. You never know, you too could be feeling better very soon!

BackCare Awareness Week, 6th – 12th October 2014

Chiropractors, osteopaths, physiotherapists and other healthcare professionals across the country will be welcoming this year's Backcare Awareness Week (6th – 12th October 2014) as an opportunity to highlight the importance of back care education.

The BackCare Awareness Week is an annual event which aims to promote the awareness of back pain and the wide-ranging issues surrounding it, including prevention and treatment. Each year, the BackCare Awareness Week puts the spotlight on the prevention of back and neck pain and spreading the word on ‘good posture’ and ‘stress free’ living for a healthy back.

This year, the emphasis is on office workers with a campaign named ‘Back in the Office’. About 7.6 million working days are lost due to work related back pain and other musculoskeletal disorders, as reported in a NHS study.

The campaign will focus on key tips including:

  • Stand, sit and move at your desk
  • Stretch your back at your desk at least every half hour
  • Set your workstation correctly
  • Ergonomic furniture, just ‘hype’ or a necessity?
  • Use headsets and stop straining those neck muscles!
  • Take regular breaks, especially if you work long hours
  • Employers guidelines

  • McTimoney chiropractors often work with employers to ensure their office-based workers manage their work space in a way which helps maintain their backs and joints in the best condition.
