Tapathon, 16th November 2014

A keen tap dancer, Emma is looking forward to taking part in Tapathon 2014 which brings together thousands of tap dancing enthusiasts of all ages and fitness levels from all over the UK. We all perform the choreographed Tapathon routine, on the same day, at the same time in hundreds of different locations throughout the UK. Tapathon 2014 will take place on Sunday 16th November as part of BBC Children in Need. More info can be found here and details of classes run by Emma's ever-patient tap dance teacher Jo Rothwell can be found here.

Shirley, 9th August 2014

Emma and Sadie (one of her rescued greyhounds) will be outside M&S in Shirley collecting on behalf of Solihull Animal Aid. Animal Aid is the UK's largest animal rights group and one of the longest established in the world, having been founded in 1977. We campaign peacefully against all forms of animal abuse and promote a cruelty-free lifestyle. Animal Aid investigate and expose animal cruelty, and their undercover investigations and other evidence are often used by the media, bringing these issues to public attention. Further information can be found here

Elmdon Park, 3rd August 2014

A lovely day walking the kennel dogs from Birmingham Greyhound Protection. All of them behaved impeccably especially given that this was the first time most of these dogs had ever seen another breed of dog, let along small fluffy ones! Greyhounds really do make wonderful pets (although I am slightly biased as I share my life with 4 of these beauties!) so if you have space in your heart and on your sofa for a sleek, chic, 40mph couch potato, then please visit elmdon

Snowdon, 26th July 2014

Emma and her eldest daughter Abby are climbing Snowdon on behalf of the Vegan Organic Network. Money raised goes towards vegan outreach events, education, training and research centres, and supporting farms to become stockfree organic. Further information can be found at and our fundraising page can be found at snowdon

28th June 2014 - Grand Opening of Truly TwoGrand Kennels, home of Birmingham Greyhound Protection

Emma is pleased to support this local rehoming centre who are dedicated to the rescue and rehoming of greyhounds in need. They are against the racing industry and raise awareness about the unseen atrocities occuring daily within the racing industry. Vast numbers of these beautiful dogs are killed and abandoned, with over 10,000 in the UK and Ireland unaccounted for every year. Emma shares her home with 4 rescued greyhounds and therefore feels that this is a cause close to her heart. Further information can be found here>

Animal Aid School Speaker - Changing hearts and minds

Informing and empowering young people is one of the best ways to create a cruelty-free future. Emma works voluntarily as a school speaker for Animal Aid, providing talks in schools as part of Religious Education, English, Food Technology (including cookery demonstrations), PSE, Citizenship and General Studies classes. Animal Aid speakers are asked to give talks on a variety of animal rights issues, although the most common topics are general animal rights, animal experiments, vegetarianism and veganism.
